Douglas Oldmixon, Executive Director of the Texas Real Estate Commission and Abby Lee, Senior Associate Counsel at the Texas REALTORS®, will present on the current legislative session - detailing the bills that passed which affect leasing and property management. They will also answer your questions on state and national level issues. There will be a Q&A session. Registration is FREE to all attendees.
Abby Lee is Senior Associate Counsel at Texas REALTORS®. Abby serves as staff liaison to the Association’s Leasing and Property Management Committee and Risk Reduction Committee, and serves as the Texas Real Estate Commission liaison for the Association. Additionally, Abby is in charge of drafting, updating and protecting the Association’s forms. Abby joined the Texas REALTORS® in January 2012. She received her J.D. from Baylor Law School and graduated with distinction from the University of Kansas.
Douglas Oldmixon serves as Executive Director of the Texas Real Estate Commission and Commissioner of the Texas Appraiser Licensing & Certification Board. Licensed as an Attorney and a Real Estate Broker since 1985, he has experience in major sectors of the real estate industry; including law, finance, title insurance, development, brokerage, investments and portfolio management. From 2004 to 2009, Doug was Managing Broker and Counsel at Spillar Oldmixon Advisors Realty, LLC, offering development services and professional brokerage representation for residential, commercial and investment real estate clients. From 2000 to 2003, he served as Executive Director of the Texas Veterans Land Board and as a member of the Texas Appraiser Licensing & Certification Board. A retired USAF officer with over 26 years of service, Lt Col Oldmixon is a veteran of Desert Storm and served two tours of duty in Iraq after September 11, 2001. With extensive experience in real estate, military and public service, he’s earned a reputation for integrity, strategic innovation, and effective change management.
