Course Description: The affordable-housing buyer is a growing market in today’s industry. Knowing the special circumstances of these clients and how to best promote yourself in this market is critical. This class will help you locate sources of qualified affordable-housing buyers, assess their specific needs, identify fair-housing issues, and understand and respond to the concerns of the affordable-housing buyer. In short, you will gain tips for working with and counseling affordable housing buyers so that you can meet their needs.
This 2-day certification equips Texas REALTORS® with the knowledge of "workforce housing" programs and alternatives that help make home ownership in Texas affordable and sustainable. The more you know about affordable housing programs, the better you can assist your clients in making home ownership a reality. The better your understanding of processes surrounding short sales and foreclosures, the more guidance you can provide on either side of these transactions. Together, the certification will enable Texas REALTORS® to help clients find solutions that will meet their financial needs while best serving their long-term goals.
