Fair Housing Training Requirement for All REALTORS®
As part of the National Association of REALTORS®' commitment to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion, all REALTORS® must complete at least 2 hours of Fair Housing Training every three years—aligned with the Code of Ethics training cycle. The current cycle runs from January 1, 2025, to December 31, 2027.
New GFWAR REALTORS® must complete the training within 30 days of joining.
Key Points to Know:
- Training Requirement: All REALTORS® must complete a minimum of 2 hours of Fair Housing Training that meets NAR’s approved learning objectives and criteria. Eligible options include:
- NAR’s Fairhaven simulation
- NAR’s At Home with Diversity certification
- NAR’s At Home with Diversity (course only)
- NAR’s Bias Override training
- Approved Fair Housing courses offered by a local association
- TREC Legal Update 1 (2025-2026)
- Deadline: The training must be completed by December 31, 2027.
- New Members: New REALTOR® members are required to complete this education within 30 days of their application to ensure they start their real estate journey with a strong understanding of fair housing principles.
